Buc-ee’s submitted a development plan for a proposed travel center in El Paso County, Colorado, earlier this month, according to reporting from local newspaper My San Antonio. The proposed development would include a roughly 74,000-square-foot store, 120 fuel pumps and nearly 790 parking spaces, the outlet said.
“The project encountered a hurdle in July when county planning officials said they could not determine whether the proposed travel center qualified as a convenience store under local zoning rules. Buc-ee’s appealed the determination, and commissioners ultimately ruled in the company’s favor,” the outlet reported.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, QuikTrip is planning to demolish and rebuild its existing store near 36th and Peoria with a new Generation 4 location, reported local news outlet News on 6.
“QuikTrip is planning to scrape and rebuild the existing store at 3606 S. Peoria Ave. with a new Generation 4 store. The rezoning request applies to a small portion of property directly behind the current store that is already owned by QuikTrip and is intended to support the site’s redevelopment. We are currently working through the engineering and city review process and do not have a construction timeline to share at this time. The new store would feature QuikTrip’s latest Generation 4 layout designed to enhance the customer experience,” Aisha Jefferson, corporate communications manager at QuikTrip, said in a statement.
RaceTrac opened a new store in West Jefferson, Ohio, according to a LinkedIn post from the company. It is the company’s second location in Ohio and marks the first of four new stores planned to open this year. “With Circleville, Lima, and Canal Winchester still to come, we're looking forward to serving even more local residents, commuters, and professional drivers across the state,” the company said.
