Last week, ExtraMile Convenience Stores opened its 1,200th store, a spokesperson for the company told NACS. The new location is in Tempe, Arizona.
The retailer has also been focused on its East Coast expansion this year. ExtraMile said it has opened more than 10 new stores in Georgia in 2026, and “continues to see success in the southeast,” the retailer said on LinkedIn.
“Last month, a new ExtraMile store opened in Duluth, Georgia. Just as the city takes pride in old and new, ExtraMile takes pride in fueling journeys in the Peach State.”
In January, ExtraMile partnered with Moore Oil Co., Chevron’s largest branded fuel marketer in Alabama, for store conversions in the state.
ExtraMile said that Moore Oil committed to converting more than 20 of its current Chevron Food Mart locations in the greater Birmingham, Alabama, area to ExtraMile-branded stores.
Conversion activities began in early 2026, with the full project completion anticipated in 2027, according to the company.
Meanwhile in Colorado, QuikTrip is expanding its presence in the Denver metro by opening a new location at 14305 E. Alameda Ave., marking its fourth store in Aurora and 28th in Colorado, according to the company.
“QuikTrip opened its first Colorado location in Firestone in 2022, and the Aurora opening comes as the company continues to grow its presence across the region. QT currently has an additional 14 Denver metro area stores under construction,” the retailer said.
The new Aurora location features QuikTrip’s QT Kitchens concept, which features made-to-order food options, along with expanded beverage selections and an operating model designed to prioritize speed and consistency across company-owned stores.
QuikTrip announced a $300,000 donation to the Aurora Police Department and a $100,000 grant to The Family Tree, a local nonprofit that focuses on preventing and addressing child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.
