NACS Builds on Advocacy Efforts Through Customer Engagement
Through a new Tap initiative, NACS is making it easy for customers to engage with policymakers and support the convenience retail industry.

Our customers are the cornerstone of our industry and our stores play an essential role in the communities we serve. Every day, we provide products and services that people depend on. Yet many customers are unaware of the public policy challenges we face to continue delivering the value and convenience they rely on.
By helping customers understand how public policy impacts both their daily lives and their neighborhood stores, we can empower a larger network of advocates who are motivated to support our industry. To build on recent advocacy efforts, NACS is partnering with iSee Store Innovations to connect with customers where they are—inside your stores.
NACS is working with retailers across the country to install iSee Tap devices in stores to raise awareness about issues critical to the industry, while giving customers an easy way to take action. These devices use signage and tap-to-connect technology to direct customers to a webpage where they can learn more about key policy issues, and if they choose, reach out to their legislators.
Last year, customer engagement drove over 20,000 letters to members of Congress in support of the Credit Card Competition Act (CCCA). Through customer loyalty app alerts and in-store signage, we saw firsthand that customers are willing to speak up when they understand how public policy affects the businesses they visit every day.
The CCCA will remain a central focus of NACS’ outreach. At a time when Americans continue to face rising everyday costs, this effort will help raise awareness that hidden credit card swipe fees are contributing to higher prices for both retailers and consumers.
By joining our advocacy efforts, you’re giving customers an opportunity to support the businesses they know and trust. A simple tap can help customers learn more about the issues affecting convenience retail and make their voices heard with policymakers.
