Pennsylvania-based Rutter’s is gearing up to celebrate “717 Day,” a nod to the retailer’s home area code, by hosting York native and professional golfer Carson Bacha for a meet-and-greet event, the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Rutter’s location at 1450 Mount Zion Road in York, Pennsylvania, and “will celebrate York County roots with a day of local pride, community engagement and family-friendly fun.” The event will be free and open to the public.
“As a York-born brand and a York-raised professional athlete, Rutter’s and Carson Bacha share a strong connection to the 717 region, making 717 Day the perfect occasion to celebrate their hometown ties with the community that helped shape them,” the retailer said.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet Bacha, take photos and enjoy a variety of special activities, including:
- Mini golf hosted by Lancaster Mini Golf
- Food and beverage samples from Rutter’s
- Giveaways and prizes
- Exclusive one-day offers and promotions
Additionally, attendees will also get an exclusive preview of the new Bacha Birdie sandwich, inspired by Bacha and developed in partnership with Rutter’s. The sandwich will be featured as part of a limited-time breakfast bundle set to launch later this summer.
"717 Day is all about celebrating the people, communities, and local pride that make our region special," said Ashley Donelly, director of marketing and communications at Rutter’s. "We're excited to partner with Carson Bacha, a talented local athlete who represents York so well, and give our customers a fun opportunity to connect with him while getting a sneak peek at what's coming next from Rutter's."
