Illinois Retailer Rmarts to Sell 8 Locations

Illinois-based Rmarts has agreed to sell eight of its convenience stores in the greater Chicagoland area to an undisclosed regional c-store operator, according to a press release sent to NACS from Downstream Energy Group, who advised the sale.

“The transaction represents a strategic milestone for Rmarts, enabling the family to realize value from a portion of its portfolio while continuing to own and operate the legacy locations that remain central to its long-term business,” Downstream Energy Group said.

Founded in 1951 with its first location at the corner of Ohio and LaSalle in downtown Chicago, Rmarts is a family-owned convenience store operator with more than 70 years of service to the Chicagoland community. The company operates Shell- and 76-branded gas and convenience locations throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
