Casey’s Agrees to Acquire Pak-A-Sak
The deal would add 24 locations to the third-largest convenience retailer in the United States.

Casey’s General Stores has agreed to acquire all Pak-A-Sak’s 24 convenience stores in West Texas, according to an ABC 7 News report.
The third-largest convenience retailer in the United States, Casey’s has nearly 3,000 stores in 19 states. The company revealed in June that it plans to add at least 400 stores as part of its new three-year plan.
That goal did not assume any large deals, but was expected to be reached through single store or smaller multi-unit deals and new construction, according to CFO Steve Bramlage.
“Hopefully, we’ve already demonstrated that we have the balance sheet and the integration experience to take on a larger deal that would help us exceed the goal if the opportunity were right,” Bramlage said at the time.
The first Pak-A-Sak was opened by Dale and Joyce McKee in 1978 in Canyon, Texas, according to the company’s website. The convenience store business was operated by three generations of the McKee family.
The family told ABC 7 News that Casey’s and Pak-A-Sak shared company values, with both focused on community service and family-friendly environments.
In 2024, Casey’s acquired Fikes Wholesale, a deal that included 198 CEFCO Convenience Stores with 148 locations in Texas.
The company also revealed in June that Casey’s had closed 41 stores over the last year, including exiting Mississippi, where it had about 10 stores it had acquired from the Fikes deal.
