TULSA, Okla.—QuikTrip, the Tulsa-based convenience store chain, will begin construction on a new store in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, later this year with an opening scheduled for summer or fall of 2021, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.

In addition, the Tuscaloosa City Council has approved annexing an 8.96-acre tract near Interstate 20, but plans for that location have not been revealed.

QuikTrip has proposed a location off Interstate 65 in Fultondale, a city outside Birmingham, but has not received zoning approval.

QuikTrip currently operates 800 stores in 11 states.
