New Waivers Issued Due to Storms, Extreme Cold Weather

In response to the current frigid temperatures in the Midwest and East Coast, the emergency declaration has been amended.

WASHINGTON – With the East Coast and Midwest still experiencing frigid temperatures and the remnants of several storms, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) amended its emergency declaration through February 2.

The emergency declaration now includes the following states: Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont and Wisconsin.

The declaration includes an hours of service waiver for drivers providing direct assistance to the emergency, including delivering fuel supplies.
