The House on Wednesday passed a bill allowing the year-round sale of E15. NACS has continually advocated for the year-round sale of E15 fuel.

The vote was 218 to 203, reported The New York Times. The bill now heads to the Senate.

"With gas prices remaining top of mind for American families, this legislation gives consumers more choices at the pump by removing an antiquated federal barrier to year-round E15 sales," said Matt Durand, NACS deputy general counsel. "It means retailers nationwide would have the long-overdue option to sell E15 alongside other fuels, and we applaud the House for passing it on a bipartisan basis."

“Democratic and Republican administrations—including the Trump administration this year—have issued temporary waivers during periods of high gas prices. The blend can be more affordable at the pump because corn is cheaper to produce than regular gasoline,” the outlet wrote.

According to the report, President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have both traveled to Iowa in recent months to urge the passage of year-round E15.

NACS supports the year-round sale of E15 fuel to help enhance fuel supply, promote competition and help lower costs for American families. This amendment represents a pragmatic solution that balances energy affordability, rural economic strength and regulatory certainty.
