Weigel’s kicked off its Employee Appreciation Week 2026 across East Tennessee, “recognizing the store teams, commissary staff, logistics operators and corporate employees who power the company’s daily operations and guest experience,” the retailer said in a press release.
“Our employees are the foundation of Weigel’s,” said Doug Yawberry, president and CEO of Weigel’s. “Their dedication to our guests and to one another drives our success every day. Employee Appreciation Week is an opportunity to recognize that commitment in a meaningful way and to invest back into the people who make our company stronger.”
Throughout the week, employees receive exclusive in-app offers through the MyWeigel’s platform, including bonus loyalty points, complimentary services, mobile convenience offers, entry into a dedicated employee cash sweepstakes and free items distributed throughout the week. Additional surprise rewards are delivered digitally, creating a personalized recognition experience.
As part of this year’s celebration, team members will receive 1,500 bonus loyalty points along with 30 cents off per gallon of fuel.
Weigel’s is also introducing an employee anniversary bonus program, awarding 500 bonus loyalty points for every year of service. The benefit will be awarded annually, “allowing recognition to grow alongside tenure and celebrating long-term careers within the company,” Weigel’s said.
Employees will also receive free mobile delivery powered by Vroom during the promotional period.
In the August 2025 NACS Magazine article “Fuel Your Frontline Workforce,” Weigel’s shared that as part of its Culture Club, the Weigel’s corporate staff rewards frontline workers by taking over their store for a few hours.
“When a store hits a certain percentage from passing its mystery shop, our team from the support center literally takes over the store. We bring cupcakes, food, whatever they want, and we run the store for a few hours while they get to sit down and celebrate,” said Kelly Bowling, HR director at Weigel’s. “It’s really fun for them.”
Weigel’s also makes all positions bonus eligible. “No matter what position you’re in, you can make a bonus. And if a store makes a goal, everyone in that store gets a bonus. If a store does well in a mystery shop, they get a bonus,” said Brad Anderson, director of recruiting and development at Weigel’s.
