Ohio-based Ridi Stores is expanding its footprint with the acquisition of McIntosh Energy Company, including its four MacFood Mart convenience store locations and a standalone fleet fueling site, reported local Fort Wayne, Indiana news outlet Wane 15.
Ridi Stores, established in 1999 in Toledo, Ohio, currently operates nearly 20 locations in six counties in Ohio and Michigan. The acquisition marks the company’s entry into the Indiana market.
With the acquisition, Ridi Stores will be taking over bulk fuel delivery operations and Pacific Pride fleet card services.
“We’re excited to join the Greater Fort Wayne community and look forward to continuing to build strong relationships through reliable fuel, fresh food offerings and friendly service,” said Loui Ridi, president and CEO of Ridi Stores.
While no official timeline is set, MacFood Mart locations will be rebranded to Ridi Stores, Wane 15 reported.
McIntosh Energy Co., a Fort Wayne, Indiana-based fuel provider and Sunoco distributor, has been in business for more than 70 years. It was founded by Russell McIntosh in 1953 and later succeeded by his son, Ray McIntosh, in 1979.
“It’s been a great source of pride to serve the Greater Fort Wayne community throughout the years, and we wanted to ensure these stores would be in good hands for the future. I’m confident Ridi Stores will continue to provide the level of service and community involvement our guests have come to know and love,” said Ray McIntosh.
