TravelCenters of America, part of the BP portfolio, has opened nominations for the 2026 Citizen Driver Award.

“This prestigious honor recognizes professional drivers who inspire respect for the trucking industry through exemplary citizenship, safety, community involvement, health and wellness and leadership,” the retailer said. It is a “unique recognition that honors drivers who keep America moving while making a meaningful positive difference in their communities and across the industry.”

Each Citizen Driver honoree receives a tribute with a TA, Petro and TA Express location dedicated in their name.

“We are honored to celebrate the professional drivers who go above and beyond, both on the road and in their communities,” said Debi Boffa, CEO of TravelCenters of America. “Citizen Driver represents the very best of our industry—hard work, leadership and the commitment to making a difference.”

TA said nominations are now open through October 6, 2025. Professional drivers may nominate themselves or be nominated by others. Eligible nominees must be licensed and actively employed over-the-road professional drivers, age 21 or older, residing in the 50 U.S. states or Canada.

In April of this year, TA announced its 12th annual Citizen Driver Award honorees for 2024 at the Mid-America Trucking Show. Craig Daniels of Columbus, Georgia, Jay Hosty of Diamondhead, Mississippi and Darryl Tolle of Cynthiana, Kentucky were selected.
