Wawa opened its fifth location in the state of Indiana this month, with more locations to come, reported local news outlet WISHTV.
“Wawa opened its first store in Brownsburg on [September 18] at 60 E. Garner Rd. marking the company’s fifth location in the state. The new Brownsburg store is part of Wawa’s ambitious expansion plan in Indiana, which aims to open up to 60 locations statewide. Each store represents a significant investment of over $7.5 million and creates approximately 35 permanent jobs,” the outlet reported.
“We are grateful to the Indiana community for embracing us with opening wings and are excited to continue our expansion to serve more communities statewide,” said Joe Collins, director of store operations at Wawa.
Wawa announced the opening dates for three new stores in Indiana this September, including locations in Greenfield and Westfield.
Meanwhile in Oklahoma, QuikTrip is working with the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma to bring a new store to Miami, Oklahoma, reported local outlet KOAM.
“The store will be built near the southwest corner of State Highway 10 and Turnpike Entrance 313 and is expected to create more than 20 local jobs. Tribal leaders say the project will expand access to goods and services, boost the local economy and benefit both residents and students,” the report said.
“As Chief of the Peoria Tribe, and on behalf of the Business Committee, I am proud to announce our collaboration with QuikTrip to bring a brand-new store to our local community,” said Chief Rosanna Dobbs. “This partnership represents more than economic opportunity—it’s a testament to our tribe’s resilience, vision and commitment to building a stronger future for our people and our neighbors.”
Aisha Jefferson, corporate communications manager at QuikTrip, said the agreement marks “a meaningful collaboration between QuikTrip, the Peoria Tribe and the City of Miami.”
