Sheetz has been named to this year’s list of “America’s Most Innovative Companies” by Fortune and Statista. Sheetz was “recognized for its relentless drive to stay ahead of the curve in delivering new ideas, products and initiatives to its customers. Sheetz is the only convenience chain included on this year’s list,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
Fortune and Statista selected companies based on product innovation, process innovation and innovation culture. To help evaluate companies, Statista reportedly deployed online surveys where employees could score their own company on a scale system.
Sheetz noted how it implemented touch-screen ordering decades before most retailers, built drive-thrus at its stores for customers who are on the go, is among the first to introduce voice-activated ordering through Amazon Alexa, implemented Scan & Go during the COVID-19 pandemic and much more.
Sheetz also said it was ahead of the industry curve in supporting electric vehicles, surpassing 2 million electric vehicle charging sessions in 2023.
Last month, Sheetz was named to Fortune’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For, developed in collaboration with Great Place to Work. “This marks Sheetz’s 10th straight year being named to this prestigious workplace list. Sheetz is ranked 40th and is the only convenience chain included on this year’s list,” the retailer said.
This list recognizes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures and high employee satisfaction, measured through Great Place To Work’s proprietary survey platform, confidential feedback from more than 1.3 million employees in the U.S., and HR data from companies.
