Activate Your Community on the Credit Card Competition Act

Congress is working to take action on the Credit Card Competition Act (CCCA) soon—and we need your help to make sure it passes.

Here’s how: Display our Call to Action card at your register to encourage customers to speak up!

Every time a customer uses a credit card, your business pays a swipe fee. These fees have skyrocketed in recent years and are now the second-highest operating costs for retailers after labor. These hidden fees don’t just stop at the counter—the average American family unknowingly pays nearly $1,200 in credit card swipe fees per year.

The CCCA would introduce long overdue competition into the credit card marketplace, requiring credit card companies to compete on both fees and services. That’s why NACS strongly supports this legislation.

Why Customer Participation Matters: Lawmakers listen when their constituents speak. When customers contact their federal lawmakers it sends a powerful message: Americans are tired of hidden swipe fees and rising costs. By encouraging customers to scan the QR code and send a message, you’re giving them a voice in a debate that directly affects their wallets—and yours.

The Senate may vote on this critical legislation soon. This is where you can help! This is a crucial moment, and we need the full strength of our industry and our customers to weigh in. You can support these efforts by displaying our Call to Action at checkout to empower your customers to take action. The QR code links to our Advocacy page, giving customers an easy way to email their lawmakers about supporting the CCCA.
