Good Oil Company Inc. has acquired Big Mike’s Gas N Go LLC (“Big Mike’s”) convenience retail assets, according to a press release from Matrix Capital Markets Group Inc. Headquartered in Lebanon, Ohio, Big Mike’s “operates high-performing convenience stores in and around Dayton and Cincinnati,” the company said.

Big Mike’s was founded in 2008 when Mike Schueler, president and CEO of The Schueler Group, purchased his first two convenience stores in Troy and Tipp City, Ohio. Over time, Mike Schueler expanded throughout southwest Ohio.

According to a LinkedIn post, Good Oil Company is a “homegrown Indiana business and family-owned fuel distributor and convenience store operator.” With the addition of these five locations, Good Oil Company now operates 20 Good To Go stores—including 14 in central Indiana, one in Illinois and five in Ohio—with “continued plans for strategic growth across the Midwest.”

The stores will reopen under the Good To Go banner on April 30, marking a 33% increase in the company’s retail presence and furthering its strategic growth across the Midwest, the company said.

“Acquiring these five stores from Big Mike’s is a meaningful step in our mission to bring the Good To Go experience to more communities,” said Meachele Thomas, chief operating officer. “We’re excited to introduce our customer-focused, tech-forward and community-rooted approach to Ohio.”

Schueler said, “Matrix was an invaluable resource in identifying potential buyers of Big Mike’s and an attentive and effective partner in finalizing the sale to Good Oil Company. We welcome Good Oil to southwest Ohio!”
