Minuteman Food Mart acquired a former Speedway location in Whiteville, North Carolina, “marking another milestone in the company’s continued growth across the Carolinas,” the retailer said in a press release sent to NACS.
“We’re excited to bring this store back to life and reintroduce it to the community,” said Ed Bitondo, vice president, convenience store operations at Minuteman. “This area already feels like home for us, and we look forward to serving Whiteville with the experience and values our guests know and trust.”
Minuteman Food Mart said the newly acquired site is undergoing upgrades, and once reopened will offer the retailer’s staples including Chill Zone fountain drinks and Minuteman Brew coffee.
The retailer encouraged customers to follow Minuteman Food Mart on social media or download the Minuteman Rewards app for updates and exclusive offers tied to the reopening celebration.
Also in recent North Carolina acquisitions, in February, Majors Management LLC acquired four Mac’s Food Stores in Aberdeen, Pinehurst and Southern Pines, North Carolina, from affiliates of McNeill Oil Company Inc.
“This was a difficult decision, as these locations have been part of our company for decades,” said Frank McNeill, president of McNeill Oil. “However, we were fortunate to work with a partner like Majors Management. Their experience, professionalism and speed allowed us to finalize this transaction smoothly and efficiently.”
