Join Conexxus for a webinar to get prepared for SNAP chip card payments.

March 19, 2025

Join Conexxus on March 20 at 12 EST for the webinar “EBT Goes EMV: What’s Happening and How to Get Ready,” which will cover the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) card transition.

Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) payments for SNAP are rapidly transitioning from magstripe to chip cards and retailers must be prepared. This shift requires collaboration with vendors for development, testing and deployment of the new cards. While the requirements are consistent across all programs, implementation will vary by state.

The Conexxus365 webinar will cover:

  • Why EBT is moving to chip cards
  • What it means for your business
  • How Conexxus is supporting the industry through this transition

NACS encourages all SNAP retailers to begin updating their POS systems to be able to accept EBT chip-enabled cards, as USDA is overseeing efforts to modernize the program and enhance SNAP benefit protection in multiple states.

Convenience stores provide essential access to nutrition for low-income Americans. Convenience stores are often the only establishments easily accessible by walking or public transportation, or the only food retail locations open for business with extended or 24-hour service.

NACS offers a variety of SNAP resources.
