Refuel Operating Company recently hosted its 2nd Refuel Cares Annual Fishing Tournament in support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), raising $192,979.32. “Refuel has proudly donated over $1 million to LLS through our Refuel Cares initiatives and Point of Sale campaigns,” Refuel said on LinkedIn.
The company also said: “We were honored to be joined by Zach, our Honored Hero and a T-cell leukemia survivor, who was diagnosed at just 10 years old. His strength, resilience, and positive spirit remind us why this mission matters — and his story continues to inspire everything we do.”
Sheetz recently partnered with the Pittsburgh Pirates to pack 1,000 summer snack boxes for a local food bank, according to a LinkedIn post from a Pirates employee.
“There is typically a two-week period following the last day of school before summer food programs begin, [and] many local kids rely on school to provide them with two meals a day. We had volunteers from both the Pirates and Sheetz to help pack up the meal kits that were delivered to local kids across Pittsburgh,” the post said.
Cumberland Farms announced on LinkedIn that it raised $35,000 for the American Heart Association during its week-long in-store fundraiser in recognition of American Stroke Month.
“We’d like to give a big thank you to our guests for supporting this important organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke through education, research and advocacy for public health,” EG America said.
Royal Farms announced the return of its summer charitable event: Chickenpalooza. Royal Farms will donate a portion of the proceeds from Chickenpalooza to local nonprofits in each of the communities it serves when customers buy a chicken sub or 8-piece chicken bucket. Chickenpalooza will run from July 1 to August 31 at all Royal Farms’ locations.
The charities vary for each state: in Maryland, proceeds will go to Baltimore Hunger Project; Virginia, the Richmond Animal League; West Virginia, Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center; Delaware, Children & Families First; North Carolina, Foodbank of Central & Eastern North Carolina – Greenville Branch; Pennsylvania, West Park Cultural Center; and New Jersey, New Life Animal Rescue.
