Thorntons recently opened its newest Chicagoland store, and its 95th location in the state of Illinois, according to a press release from Thorntons. The retailer said it now operates a total of 74 stores in the Chicagoland area.
The new 4,400 square foot facility features “a number of amenities to serve on-the-go guests,” including self-checkout, freshly made burritos, sandwiches and fresh baked pizza prepared throughout the day in the store's onsite kitchen, a variety of beverages and 20 auto fueling positions.
During the grand opening celebration, Thorntons leadership presented the Northern Illinois Food Bank with a $2,500 donation.
Elsewhere, Love’s Travel Stops is “expanding its network in the Southwestern area of Virginia with the addition of a new travel stop in Elliston. Located along Interstate 81, this store is Love’s first travel stop to open in 2025,” according to a press release from Love’s.
The Elliston travel stop adds 93 truck parking spaces, and “with Claytor Lake State Park just a half-hour drive away; Elliston is an ideal location for Love’s growing RV network,” Love’s said. This travel stop includes six RV hookups and additional RV parking spaces, an RV dump and seven private showers.
Food options at the Elliston travel stop include Love’s Fresh Kitchen, Arby’s and the “area’s first Dunkin’.”
In honor of the grand opening, the retailer donated $2,500 to Shawsville Middle School and $2,500 to Eastern Montgomery Elementary School.
QuikChek held ribbon cutting ceremonies earlier this month for its new locations in Neptune, New Jersey, and Phillipsburg, New Jersey, according to a LinkedIn post.
Wawa recently opened its new location in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, which is Wawa’s “first Franklin County Pennsylvania location,” according to a LinkedIn post.
