Casey’s General Stores has acquired Wow! Foodmart LLC and its affiliated retail portfolio, which includes one travel center, seven convenience stores and four liquor stores in central Kentucky. The properties are located between Lexington and Richmond, with many situated along the Interstate 75 corridor, according to a statement from Downstream Energy Group (DEG), which advised the sale.
“Casey’s is acquiring top-tier retail assets that will further strengthen their growing footprint,” said Jeff Traub, partner at DEG. “The principals of Wow! Foodmart LLC and its affiliated companies have built an exceptional business, and it has been an honor to represent them in this transaction.”
DEG said it provided exclusive merger and acquisition advisory services to Wow! Foodmart. DEG is a M&A advisory firm providing services to convenience store, travel center and wholesale distribution companies within the downstream energy sector.
In July 2024, Casey’s agreed to purchase Fikes Wholesale, owner of 198 CEFCO Convenience Stores. The all-cash transaction totaled $1.145 billion.
The transaction closed in November 2024, and Casey’s said that the acquisition would bring 148 additional stores to Texas—“a highly strategic market” for Casey’s—as well as add 50 stores in the southern states of Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
In other Casey’s news, the retailer recently launched eight all-new “Darn Good Coffee” blends. The Iowa-based retailer also recently rolled out an Italian Deli LTO pizza, available now through April 29.
