After a “highly successful initial deployment,” Wesco convenience stores will double its number of Mashgin’s AI-powered checkouts, bringing the total to over 20 locations, according to a press release.

Mashgin’s kiosks “use computer vision to instantly ring up items, without the need to scan barcodes. Customers simply place their items down and are ready to pay. The kiosk can identify multiple items simultaneously in seconds with nearly 100% accuracy,” the company said.

According to the press release, during the Wesco pilot program, Mashgin kiosks accelerated nearly half a million transactions at over 10 Wesco locations with a median transaction time of 18.7 seconds.

"Our customers have quickly taken to love Mashgin's machines—and we've loved working with them,” said Nancy Westgate-Sytsema, co-president of Wesco. "Both the technology and the team are extremely responsive, exactly what we look for in a technology partner."

Mashgin kiosks are in place at over 4,000 locations globally, including over 3,000 convenience stores, according to the company.

Additionally, Parker’s Kitchen has teamed up with NCR Voyix Corporation, a provider of digital commerce solutions, to “enhance its customer experience with state-of-the-art self-checkout technology,” according to a press release.

Parker’s Kitchen is reportedly using NCR Voyix self-checkout technology at 62 sites with plans to expand to more locations in the coming years.

“NCR Voyix self-checkout has allowed Parker’s Kitchen to optimize the guest shopping experience, especially during peak shopping times,” said Scott Smith, senior director of IT at Parker’s Kitchen. “Our team members can assist three customers at once, rather than one, resulting in faster checkout times and more efficient service.”
