The retailer has plans to install upwards of 500 ecoATM kiosks across its stores.

EG America has partnered with ecoATM to bring mobile device trade-in kiosks to its stores, allowing customers to recycle used smart devices for cash, according to a press release sent to NACS.

EG America said that kiosks have already been installed in select EG America retail locations nationwide where guests can turn in their devices, regardless of condition. The kiosks examine, grade and price each device, and if the price is accepted, payment is dispensed, and the device is then refurbished or recycled.

EG America began adding kiosks to stores in early 2025, with initial installations in four banners across nine states. The retailer has plans to install upwards of 500 kiosks across stores.

“This partnership allows our guests to easily and sustainably turn in their old and used devices and be compensated instantly,” said Nick Unkovic, EG America’s chief transformation and strategy officer. “We’re committed to finding new and innovative ways to differentiate our stores while also providing value and convenience to our guests, and ecoATM’s trade-in kiosks do just that.”

“We’re excited to partner with EG America and see our kiosks in convenience stores for the first time,” said Neil Fried, SVP, corporate development, ecoATM Gazelle. “With more than 50 million devices collected so far—reducing greenhouse gas emissions similar to removing over 3,300 cars from the road per year—we are expanding rapidly and thrilled to drive our mission of building a sustainable future by eliminating e-waste one device at a time.”

In other recent EG America news, last month the retailer launched its SmartRewards program, focusing on creating deeper relationships with its guests, offering personalized benefits, seamless enrollment and dynamic one-to-one promotions. The company is partnering with PAR Technology for the relaunch.
