Wawa is celebrating The Wawa Foundation’s 11th anniversary and National Volunteer Week by giving back to its partners, the retailer recently said on LinkedIn.

Wawa will be awarding $50,000 in Wawa gift cards to each of its partners and said it will be supporting the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania, Breakthrough T1D Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, #CheckOutHunger, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Region, Special Olympics New Jersey and USO with donations throughout the week.

Wills Group, the parent company of Dash In, celebrated National Volunteer Month by offering its employees volunteer opportunities, according to a LinkedIn post. Options included:

  • Project Clean Steam watershed cleanup day with Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay to help clean up the Cape St. Claire, Maryland community.
  • Ancarrow’s Landing Cleanup day in Richmond Virginia to help preserve waterways along the James River shoreline.
  • Weed Wars day in Lewis Park, Newark, Delaware to join the fight against invasive weeds to help restore the parks ecosystem.

“Our commitment is to ensure our teams have access to community activities that are impactful, while also giving them the time to invest in causes that matter to them personally. That is why we offer paid time off for team members to volunteer in addition to our company-hosted volunteer days,” Wills Group said in the post.
