Maverik entered its 21st state with the recent opening of two new stores in Garden City, Kansas, according to a press release sent to NACS.

“Maverik’s new 5,982-square-foot store at 50 East Acraway Ave. showcases truck and RV fueling lanes, an RV dump and a picnic area. The second location, a 4,425-square-foot store at 2601 East Mary St., features an auto fuel forecourt and picnic area,” the retailer said. Both stores are open 24/7.

In surrounding states, Maverik said it is continuing to rebrand Kum & Go (K&G) stores. The company recently completed rebrands of 40 Oklahoma locations and celebrated during a Tulsa Grand Opening event. In early May, Maverik will mark the completion of over 25 rebrands in Northwest Arkansas with a community event in Springdale, Arkansas. Rebrands in Missouri and the remainder of Arkansas are still in progress, currently scheduled to conclude later this year. To date, Maverik has rebranded over 180 stores across Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.

Wawa held a grand opening of its first store in Ohio this week. Located in Liberty Township, the location is the “first of nine Wawa stores slated to open in Ohio by year’s end,” the retailer said in the release.

The grand opening served as the feature event of Wawa Day, an annual, chainwide anniversary celebration of Wawa’s first store opening in Folsom, Pennsylvania, on April 16, 1964.

Parker’s Kitchen will be hosting a celebration in Savannah, Georgia next week in honor of its 100th store opening. “In honor of the grand opening of the company’s 100th store, Parker’s Kitchen will host a community-wide celebration featuring special giveaways, photos with Chewy the company mascot and an appearance by the Red Bull truck with a live DJ booth. Top brands like Coke, Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Red Bull, Monster, Southern Crown and Celsius will offer free samples and special giveaways,” the retailer said in a release sent to NACS.

Parker’s Kitchen said that other event highlights include remarks from Parker’s Kitchen Founder and Executive Chairman Greg Parker and CEO Brandon Hofmann as well as Parker’s Kitchen-branded giveaways.
