September 10, 2024

Join NACS at 2 p.m. on September 24 for a discussion on de-escalation and the challenges the industry is experiencing with violence and potentially violent situations.

The webinar will feature a discussion between loss prevention expert Kelly Harrington, director of asset protection at RaceTrac, and 40-plus-year industry veteran Tom Hart of Ready Training Online, who himself faced some stressful and violent situations within convenience stores while building his career in the industry. The speakers will outline basic de-escalation techniques, when to use them and how you can further train your employees to de-escalate situations.

The De-Escalation Techniques for Retailers webinar will be the first in a series of quarterly webinars on the topics of store safety and loss prevention.

Attendees of this live webinar will also receive additional free training resources.

Harrington of RaceTrac will also be speaking at the 2024 NACS Show in Las Vegas on October 8. In this education session, convenience retail loss prevention and risk experts will share strategies that they have successfully implemented to address safety concerns in their stores and on their forecourts.

From doing what you can to control the store environment, working with law enforcement and the greater community, and prioritizing risks, the two retail experts on stage will provide multiple ideas to make small and big changes that can affect your bottom line, as well as customer experience, and employee culture in your stores.
