Mars Launches New Products at Sweets and Snacks Expo

The confectioner also highlighted its insights to optimize checkout purchases.

Mars debuted new products at the 2024 Sweets & Snacks Expo in Indianapolis this week (May 14-16), launching new sizes of some customer favorites.

  • M&M'S Peanut Butter Mega: the "latest, biggest innovation" from M&M'S, "M&M'S Peanut Butter Mega delivers a rich, peanut-buttery taste in a satisfyingly crunchy candy shell in every mega bite."
  • M&M'S Peanut Butter Minis: adding to the minis line, "M&M'S Minis Peanut Butter Milk Chocolate Candy brings the great taste of M&M'S Peanut Butter in a new fun size."
  • Skittles Littles: Skittles Littles feature the five fruity flavors of Skittles Originals, but now "in a smaller, more poppable form."
  • Hubba Bubba Mini Gum: this new iteration of Hubba Bubba gum gives consumers "a fun, new candy-like taste to enjoy through a mix of fan-favorite Skittles Original flavors."
  • Starburst Gummies: the new gummies "deliver the four classic chewy Starburst flavors, but in a gummy form and made with real fruit juice."

The company also highlighted its Mars Transaction Zone at the expo. The company launched this initiative in 2022 to help retailers develop plans to optimize purchases at checkout. The Transaction Zone offers "industry-leading insights to reimagine impulse shopping," said the company, noting that "as shopper behavior and checkout technologies continue to evolve, retailers must reinvent the transaction zone to solve front-end challenges."

Hershey also launched new products at the expo, including Reese's caramel big cup, new Kit Kat flavors, Hershey's crunchy waffle cone bars, a new Ice Breakers mint flavor, as well as parmesan garlic Dot's Homestyle Pretzels, SkinnyPop cheddar jalapeño and Hershey's cookies 'n' crème popcorn in its salty snack lineup.
