As Americans get ready for the cosmic event of the century on April 8, 7-Eleven, Inc. said it’s here “to provide customers with all the makings to enjoy the highly anticipated astronomical phenomenon.”

The company announced that it will sell solar glasses at participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes stores so customers can safely view the event. In addition, subscribers of the 7NOW Gold Passs, the retailer’s subscription delivery service, can add a free pair of solar eclipse shades with any order made between April 4 to April 8, while supplies last.

7-Eleven also announced a special deal for the day of the eclipse that’s “equally circular and spectacular”—7NOW Gold Pass subscribers can get a whole pizza for $3 all day on April 8.

“At 7-Eleven, we're proud to be there for our customers through every occasion, both big and small—which includes remarkable moments like a total eclipse,” said Marissa Jarratt, executive vice president, chief marketing and sustainability officer at 7-Eleven. “Our stores are open and ready to serve those making the trek to snag a prime viewing spot for the solar sensation.”

Once-in-a-lifetime events like the total solar eclipse are an opportunity for c-stores. It’s a way to offer special deals and promotions for customers, ranging from the special eclipse craft beer to eclipse merch and more, in addition to the eclipse protective eyewear.
