Buc-ee’s to Open First Arizona Location in Goodyear

And the retailer opens its first Colorado location today.

March 18, 2024

Buc-ee’s has closed on the purchase of land in the city of Goodyear, Arizona, the city announced. The Goodyear store will be the retailer’s first location in the state and its westernmost site.

“This is huge milestone for the project, and I couldn’t be more excited that Buc-ee’s has chosen Goodyear,” said Goodyear Mayor Joe Pizzillo. “Buc-ee’s will provide our residents with what they’ve been asking for—which are more options—and that’s what they’ll get as our city continues to grow.”

The Goodyear travel center will have 120 fueling stations for passenger vehicles only with an approximately 74,000-square-foot convenience store. According to the announcement, Buc-ee’s Goodyear will bring more than 200 full-time jobs to the area, with starting pay beginning above minimum wage, full benefits, a 6% matching 401k and three weeks of paid vacation.

Meanwhile, today in Colorado, Buc-ee’s will open its doors in the state for the first time. Located, north of the Denver metro area, in Johnstown, the new store will open to the public at 6 a.m. today. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for 11 a.m. with local and state leaders, reported 9News.

Buc-ee’s broke ground on the location in June 2022. The 74,000-square-foot Johnstown travel center has 116 fueling positions and 12 EV charging stations.

“We picked a great partner in the community of Johnstown for our first store in Colorado,” said Stan Beard, director of real estate at Buc-ee’s. “At the foothills of the beautiful northern Front Range, this Buc-ee’s will introduce all sorts of bikers, hikers, skiers and campers to the cleanest restrooms, friendliest staff and freshest food they’ll ever find on a road trip.”
