bp and Diebold Nixdorf agreed for Diebold Nixdorf to serve as a bp preferred global partner for operational services and retail technology, the companies announced.

“We are proud that we have reached this strategic milestone in our relationship with bp, demonstrating the trust they have placed in our ability to support their global retail stores to be efficient and future-ready,” said Octavio Marquez, Diebold Nixdorf president and chief executive officer.

Both companies agreed to plan a modernization and transformation program that will target advanced operational service efficiency and resilience, by leveraging technology at bp’s mobility and convenience sites.

In 2021, the companies expanded their strategic partnership to provide bp with an integrated solution comprised of hardware, software and managed services. The partnership looked to reduce the operational complexity associated with managing thousands of retail sites.

Diebold Nixdorf announced a new member of its senior executive leadership team. Frank T. Baur is joining the company as executive vice president, operational excellence.

Bp recently made a $100 million deal with Tesla for ultra-fast charging units, reported NACS Daily.

In May 2023, bp completed its acquisition of TravelCenters America. By 2030, BP aims for around half its annual investment to go into these transition growth engines, with around half of its anticipated cumulative $55-65 billion transition growth engine investment going into convenience, bioenergy and EV charging.
