Walmart Fuel & Convenience announced the grand opening of its 400th fuel station in Palm Springs, California.
"We’re incredibly excited to bring more fuel stations to our customers, enhancing their shopping experience with the convenience of filling up their tanks right where they shop. Our commitment to delivering everyday low prices without compromising on quality is unwavering, and we believe this new addition will add immense value to our customers' lives," stated Dave DeSerio, vice president of Walmart Fuel & Convenience, in an email statement.
In addition to “offering everyday low prices at the pump, customers can enjoy up to 10 cents off per gallon with a Walmart+ membership. Walmart Fuel & Convenience offers the same everyday low prices on snacks and beverages as what’s offered inside the store.”
Following recent openings in Syracuse, New York, Utah, and Palm Springs, California, Walmart “plans to expand its fuel station network during the next five years.” The retailer said upcoming locations include Tahlequah, Oklahoma; Wasco, California; Caldwell, Idaho; Laredo, Texas; Greeley, Colorado; and other sites across the U.S.
“This expansion aims to enhance customer experience and savings by offering a one-stop, best-in-class shopping experience,” Walmart said.
Outside of the fueling business, Walmart is predicting a successful holiday season. “Ahead of the peak shopping period, the nation’s largest retailer appears well positioned, citing ‘broad-based strength’ across its product range,” reported the New York Times.
Walmart said last month that U.S. sales increased 5% in the third quarter to $114.9 billion, surpassing analysts’ estimates. The number of visits and the amount spent per visit both rose.
