Fav Trip is partnering with City Union Mission to help support the homeless in the Kansas City, Missouri, area. Together, they will “take steps to provide essential resources to those in need.”

The organizations are offering free baskets with essential items that also provide information on available services in the area, Babir Sultan, president of Fav Trip, said on LinkedIn. Sultan also said that Fav Trip is training staff to be “respectful and understanding of those in need.”

In Pittsburgh, Coen Markets partnered with the Pittsburgh Pirates and its mascot, Pirate Parrot, to give away 3,500 backpacks, school supplies and goodies this week as the Pittsburgh Public Schools prepare to go back to the classroom.

Earlier this summer, Coen Markets served lunch at the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank during its Youth Summer Café. “One in six kids in our area rely on free meals during the school year. Now that school’s out, we’ll donate a portion of every gallon of gas sold to a local food bank all summer,” the company said.

“So the next time you need to refuel, remember that you’re not just filling your tank; you’re helping fuel our kids.”

Casey’s recently ran its Casey’s Business Camp for the Ankeny Community School District students.

“This course is part of our High School Casey’s Career Summer Exploration program. It helps students learn about different career fields at Casey’s, understand the paths to those careers and see the benefits of each one. Students will see they can succeed and know they’re part of a supportive community,” said Matthew Stephenson, director of learning and development at Casey’s, via a LinkedIn post. “Casey’s continues to demonstrate our value of commitment to the communities we serve.”
