The Marathon retail brand’s newly launched loyalty program, Marathon ARCO Rewards, added its 1,000,000th member last month.

To celebrate, Marathon announced that it will launch the Win Big Sweepstakes, running from October 9, 2023, through January 15, 2024. Where eligible, new and existing Marathon ARCO Rewards members can enter the sweepstakes for the chance to win one of the following prizes:

  • Grand prize (1): 2024 Ford Expedition Limited MAX + $1,000 in gas
  • First runner-up prize (1): Gas for a year
  • Second runner-up prize (500): $50 rewards

“Since launching Marathon ARCO Rewards earlier this year, we’ve seen impressive participation and so much excitement surrounding the program from both our longtime and new members,” said Steve Solomon, Marathon’s director of brand strategy and innovation. “We’re eager to continue driving program growth, activity and station visits through this ‘Win Big’ sweepstakes.”

Marathon announced in December that Marathon Rewards was replacing the former MakeItCount program after a successful pilot at select Marathon-branded gas stations.

“Earlier in the year, we converted a few sites over to Marathon Rewards as a pilot to ensure the program was ready before full conversion,” John Rice, brand marketing and commerce manager, said at the time. “The pilot performance indicators have been strong, including memberships and transactions. We are excited to launch the next phase of Marathon Rewards.”

In the summer of 2022, Marathon Petroleum Corporation revealed new branding for Marathon.

“Remaining true to our heritage, you will still see the familiar red, white and blue colors reconfigured into a bolder, more contemporary design,” said Rice. “Updated dimensional elements such as a retooled logo, channel letters and illumination will capture attention both day and night. The new image also features ‘Endurance Fuels’ to underscore Marathon’s enduring commitment to provide consumers with high-quality fuels.”
