Customers in Wisconsin can each receive one free brew.

Following its two-week-long system outage, Kwik Trip is offering Wisconsinites free beer until November 1, according to the Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.

The offer comes in response to a Facebook post. On October 16, one customer made a post in the private Facebook group called Wisconsin Kwik Trip Enthusiast Group saying, “Kind of hoping for a ‘sorry the rewards app was down, here’s a free beer’ coupon when the app is fixed.”

Kwik Trip then shared the post with the caption “Say no more,” telling customers to check their rewards app. The offer is for a free 16- or 24-ounce Coors Light, Miller Light or Coors Banquet and can only be redeemed at Wisconsin stores until November 1.

According to comments on the post, Kwik Trip also awarded bonus rewards on Monday to all members, released a new batch of coupons and is offering double rewards to all members through November 5.

Kwik Trip announced that while a thorough investigation into the system outage is ongoing, current findings indicate that the company experienced a cybersecurity incident that caused disruption to systems located on the company’s internal network on Monday, October 9. The incident was detected within hours and mitigation efforts began immediately with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts.

In a statement to WISN 12 News, John McHugh, the vice president of external affairs at Kwik Trip, said “The investigation into the nature and scope of this is ongoing and in its early stages. Done correctly and thoroughly, these investigations take time to complete. To date, there is no indication that guests’ payment card information was involved.”
