Maverik – Adventure’s First Stop partnered with Swire Coca-Cola for its annual Happy Camper Grand Sweepstakes. The grand prize for the happy camper included a 2022 Mercedes Benz Sprinter Cargo van, $20,000 cash and a National Parks Pass.

The grand prize winner, Michael Smith from Kingman, Arizona, and three finalists gathered in Park City, Utah, to crown the winner.

Smith was chosen as the winner through a random selection process featuring four Coca-Cola flavors, representing each contestant: Coca-Cola Classic, Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Sprite. Michael was chosen by the host randomly choosing the Coke Zero flavor.

“I’ve been in the losing bracket my entire life with things like this, so today is a new day for me!” said Smith, a Maverik Nitro Card holder. “It’s hard to tell which drove the win—all my bonus Trail Points from purchasing Coke Zero along my road trip stops or points from my Nitro card. I have my wife, Charlotte, to thank for entering our points—right away we’re taking our three kids to Zion in Utah, then Yellowstone in Montana, the first of many adventures Maverik is going to create for us!”   

The other three finalists include one resident from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; one from Hermiston, Oregon; and one from Benton, Washington. These finalists went home with a year’s supply of Coca-Cola products and a $500 Maverik gift card.   

As part of the campaign, Coca-Cola launched a limited-edition collector Coke can that celebrates the outdoors and honors Maverik’s adventure spirit. A custom 16-ounce Coca-Cola can that featured Maverik was launched across all Maverik stores. 

This Veterans Day, Maverik will offer complimentary coffee to veterans and active-duty military all day at all Maverik’s stores across 12 western states. Veterans and military personnel with a valid military ID are invited to enjoy up to a large coffee featuring Maverik’s tasty bean-to-cup roasts.
