Kinder Bueno is bringing back its marketing campaign "Summer Gets Bueno" this year, with the goal to “help travelers transform an ordinary road trip into an extraordinary journey.”

The marketing campaign includes a gas station takeover by Kinder Bueno where customers can expect a “one-of-a-kind white-glove experience” while pumping gas and visiting the c-store. Participating fans also have the chance to receive a gas gift card worth up to $25, free Kinder Bueno and limited-edition Kinder Bueno White Chocolate bars, plus fun road trip necessities.

Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, customers can stop by the small Mobil station in Darien, Connecticut from June 29-June 30, while supplies last.

"According to a survey by the National Confectioners Association, 94% of people headed on a road trip this summer will bring chocolate and candy with them. We also know that rising airline costs mean more travelers are choosing road trips over flying this summer. Back by popular demand, the “Summer Gets Bueno” program gives travelers a special trip experience that they can savor thanks to crispy, creamy Kinder Bueno chocolate," said Shalini Stansberry, vice president of marketing, Kinder Snacking.

In addition to the "Summer Gets Bueno" rest stop takeover, Kinder Bueno is hosting a nationwide #SavorYourSummerSelfieContest now through August 13, 2023, where consumers can enter for a chance to win a one-week road trip experience in a custom RV, plus other summer prizes.

According to a survey by Advantage Solutions, four in 10 Americans are buying single-serve candy at least once a week and nearly a quarter are buying gum once a week or more. When buying candy or gum, consumers are most influenced by the ability to buy their favorite brands and products, value, price discounts and what they find at the checkout.

According to NACS State of the Industry Data for 2022, the candy category had double-digit sales growth year over year. Overall, in-store sales increased 9.0% in 2022.
