Colonial Oil Acquires Strickland Oil Co.

The move will help the Georgia company continue to grow its commercial fuel and lubricants business.

SAVANNAH, Ga.—Colonial Oil Industries Inc. announced it has acquired Strickland Oil Company, which has serviced Savannah and the surrounding region for 47 years, delivering commercial fuel and lubricants as well as operating a cardlock location in Pooler, Georgia.

“Colonial Oil is excited about this opportunity to add customers in our home market as well as adding new team members to the Colonial family," said Chris Ingram, vice president at Colonial Oil Industries. “We have grown our commercial fuel and lubricants business substantially in the last three years and feel like we have a great team in place to support continued growth.”

With strategic supply and logistics operations throughout the Southeast, Midwest and East Coast regions, Colonial Oil Industries has an extensive network providing dependable petroleum, marine and lubricants services throughout the United States to a vast portfolio of customers.

The combined operation of the North Carolina-based petroleum marketer expanded the Savannah-based subsidiary of Colonial Group Inc. to serve more customers in and around the Asheville market.

Colonial Oil Industries is one of the largest independent oil companies in the Southeast, having served the region since 1921. With strategic ocean terminals in Savannah; Charleston; Jacksonville, Florida; and Wilmington, as well as numerous terminals along the pipelines, the company has an extensive network to supply gasoline and diesel fuel to the Eastern U.S. and additionally operates a broad petroleum distribution network throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida to support lubricant and diesel exhaust fluid demand.
