YORK, Pa.—Rutter’s has announced the opening of their first new build of 2023 and third Maryland location.

Located in Emmitsburg, Maryland, the brand-new store is over 8,200 square feet, with 14 auto-fueling positions and five high-speed diesel fueling lanes. This new location will be open 24 hours a day and feature Rutter’s foodservice menu, large restrooms and free WIFI, among other amenities.

The location offers a variety of gasoline options, including unleaded 15, flex fuel, regular, mid-grade and premium gasoline. In addition, the new store will offer premium auto diesel, as well as kerosene and off-road diesel. For trucks and commercial vehicle customers, there will be dedicated high-speed pumps with premium truck diesel and in-lane DEF.

Rutter’s full-service convenience store offers a wide variety of fresh and packaged foods and more than 700 beverage options. The location will employ up to 50 people, with new team members starting at $17.50 an hour.

In honor of the new location, Rutter’s Children’s Charities will donate $1,000 to The Arc of Frederick County, the Vigilant Hose Company and Mount St. Mary’s University Food Pantry.

In November, Rutter’s announced another increase to its starting wage, with pay beginning at $17.50 per hour. This was the company’s second increase of 2022 and seventh in three years.

Since December 2019, Rutter’s has raised wages by more than 70%. Rutter’s team members and field employees will receive the latest wage boost, with full-time team members earning over $36,400 per year. Rutter’s was named as one of Forbes Top Mid-Size Employers for 2021.
