On August 4, doors will open to Kildeer’s newest Thornton’s, the 70th in the Chicago area. The new location brings the state of Illinois’ total number of Thornton’s stores to 90.
According to a company press release, “This new 6,000-square-foot facility is set on 5.15 acres and features a number of amenities to serve on-the-go guests including:
- Self-checkout stations
- Freshly-made burritos and sandwiches prepared throughout the day in the store’s onsite kitchen
- Bean-to-cup coffee and fountain beverages with nugget ice
- 18 auto fueling positions and three diesel lanes
To celebrate the opening, the c-store is giving away Thornton’s gift cards of varying amounts (while supplies last), but one customer will win a $1,000 gift card. A donation of $2,500 will also be presented to a local food bank.
Thornton’s has been continuing its expansion recently with its 20th Nashville location. The 4,400-square-foot store sits on 1.23 acres. Additionally, the opening of another location in Louisville, KY brings the region’s total to 46. The convenience and fuel retailer is offering its Refreshing Rewards members special promotions and fuel discounts throughout the summer.
As a part of the BP portfolio, Thornton’s operates more than 200 stores across six states, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
