Amazon Expands Virtual Healthcare

Customers will have access to treatment for common ailments in all 50 states.

Amazon will now offer customers access to virtual medical services in all 50 states. While not a full-service doctor’s office, Amazon Clinic advises and provides for over 30 common ailments such as pink eye, acid reflux, athlete’s foot and high blood pressure.

“With Amazon Clinic, customers in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. can receive convenient, affordable, and trusted care from the comfort of home,” Amazon said in its announcement. “In addition to message-based consultations in 34 states, Amazon Clinic now supports video visits nationwide. Amazon Clinic offers customers 24/7 access to clinicians directly through Amazon.com and the Amazon mobile app.”

Amazon introduced its virtual clinics in November of 2022 and has since closed a $3.9 billion acquisition of the medical provider One Medical. One Medical operates 220 primary care offices throughout 28 U.S. markets according to Forbes. The partnership

“Amazon Clinic removes barriers by helping customers treat their everyday health concerns wherever they are, at any time of day,” Amazon said. “And, they can see the cost before they start the visit.”

C-stores are community stores, as 93% of Americans live within 10 minutes of a convenience store. NACS has partnered with several community-focused groups to enhance community health and wellness.
