WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—EG Group announced the opening of Kwik Shop in Topeka, Kansas, according to a news release.

The Kwik Shop location is 7,632 square feet and includes 10 fueling stations across five islands and 47 parking spaces, and it features a wide variety of hot grab-and-go food options as well as its premium Farmhouse Blend coffee. Kwik Shop’s app allows customers to save 10 cents per gallon off fuel at the location and other Kwik Shops when they download the SmartPay Rewards app and enroll in the program. The location will also feature an AutoSpa car wash, which is set to open on February 23.

The store features a Taco John’s and Sbarro. The Taco John’s is scheduled to open on February 1, and the Sbarro is slated to open at a later date.

“We are excited to expand in Kansas, offering our guests a new destination for dining and more,” said George Fournier, president of EG America. “By partnering with great concepts like Taco John’s and Sbarro, we know this location will become a popular stop for Topeka residents.”

To celebrate the opening, customers who visit the new Topeka location will receive special Kwik Shop offers. Beginning Tuesday, February 1, Taco John’s customers will also receive special offers.

Meanwhile, GPM Investments announced a partnership with Sbarro to launch new restaurants inside four Village Pantry store locations in Indiana. The first store opened at GPM’s West Lafayette Village Pantry location, and two more store locations are expected to launch in early 2022.

GPM recently expanded its partnership with DoorDash to offer delivery in more than 600 stores, 84 of which now offer alcohol delivery.

“We’re constantly evaluating and thinking through new ways to meet the needs of our customers and expand our foodservice offerings,” said Arie Kotler, chairman, president and chief executive officer of ARKO. “With the COVID-19 pandemic limiting dining options for many living in remote locations and with pizza remaining one of the top-selling food items in convenience stores, we look forward to this new partnership with Sbarro and providing even more value to our customers and stakeholders.”

GPM Investments accelerated from 300 stores to nearly 1,400 retail stores and 1,500 dealer sites in less than 10 years. NACS Magazine explores how GPM is remodeling its stores to unify its portfolio in “Tying It All Together” in the March 2021 issue.
