LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Thorntons opened a new location in the Crystal Lake community of Chicagoland late last week. This is Thorntons’ 85th store in Illinois and its 65th in Chicagoland, according to a news release.
This Thornton’s location includes technologies and services to help the on-the-go customer get in and out. The store features self-checkout, freshly made burritos and sandwiches prepared throughout the day in the store’s on-site kitchen, top-of-the-line beverages such fresh bean-to-cup coffee and ice-cold fountain beverages with nugget ice, as well as LED lighting safety and energy efficiency. The store also has a rear diesel island with limited overnight truck parking and the company’s new Pro Driver rewards program for professional drivers.
As part of the company’s commitment to help feed the hungry in all the communities where it operates, Thorntons is donating $2,500 to the Northern Illinois Food Bank in honor of this new store opening. With this donation, Thorntons has contributed $5,000 and more than 50,000 pounds of food to the Northern Illinois Food Bank this year.
To celebrate the location opening and the company’s 50th anniversary, the first 100 guests in the store received a 50th anniversary commemorative coloring book with coupons valuing up to $10 in savings including a free fresh donut, roller grill item and fountain beverage.
