ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Nationwide, convenience chains are rolling out promotions to keep customers engaged during the 100 days of summer and beyond.

Pilot Company, based in Knoxville, Tenn., and its travel center brands are demonstrating appreciation of veterans and military personnel through a new year-round military discount program. The company said it is providing a 10% discount on food and beverages to the military community once individuals are verified through ID.me in the myRewards Plus™ app.

The offer is open to all veterans, active-duty and retired service members, National Guard, Reserves, their spouses and immediate family members and is available at participating Pilot Flying J and One9 Fuel Network locations.

Pilot Company was founded 63 years ago by Jim Haslam, a Korean War veteran. The company gives back to military and veteran organizations that provide education and employment programs to support service members and their families. The company recently donated $100,000 to the Call of Duty Endowment in honor of Military Appreciation Month, which will help place nearly 200 veterans into high-quality careers.

CEFCO, the Temple, Texas-based retailer with 200 locations in six states, is celebrating the “Month of Freedom” with free offers throughout July via the company’s Rewards app. The exclusive deals will be communicated via email and SMS, as well as on CEFCO’s social media channels

“We’re excited to bring even more free offers to our loyalty members, and we are grateful for our vendor partners who make these offers possible, such as PepsiCo, Mars-Wrigley, Frito-Lay and Unilever,” said Reagan Francis, brand manager for CEFCO. “We are looking forward to continuing to deliver value to our loyalty members and reward them for giving us their business.”

To take advantage of the offers, customers must sign up with a phone number on the CEFCO Rewards app, at cefcorewards.com or in the store and make sure their Rewards Profile is updated. Complete details are available at cefcorewards.com.

Rutter’s, the Pennsylvania-based chain, is going red, spiked and blue for July. Continuing a partnership with the Steel Reserve brand, Rutter’s is adding Fruit Punch to its Spiked Slushies flavor line-up this month. The Spiked Fruit Punch and Spiked Blue Razz are cool adult treats during those hot summer days. Both flavors are available in 20-ounce individual cups, as well as 64- ounce and 128-ounce party bags.

In 2019, Rutter’s added Spiked Slushies to the stores’ adult beverage menu. Now, customers can purchase Spiked Slushies at 42 Rutter’s locations throughout Pennsylvania. Each location will offer both the Spiked Fruit Punch and Spiked Blue Razz flavors, along with as many as 14 additional flavors. Adult beverages sold at Rutter’s are only available to those 21 years of age and older with a valid ID.
