PARKERSBURG, W.Va.—WTAP, a local NBC affiliate in West Virginia, shared the heart-warming story of Tony Williams, who for the past four years has played Santa to convenience-store employees working on Christmas.

Williams visits numerous area c-stores on December 25, handing out envelopes of at least $20 to store clerks.

“I just tell them ‘I know this isn’t much, but you shouldn’t have to work on Christmas. Here, take this with you. Merry Christmas’ and I’m out of there. I’m in and out real quick,” Williams told the news station.

Williams also is known to pay the checkout bill for people shopping at Walmart.

“You will be surprised how little your problems get once you step outside of yourself and do something for somebody else,” he said.
