WAWA, Penn.—Wawa has announced a new mobile ordering feature on its Wawa App. Features include a simplified mobile ordering, an easy-to-browse menu and pre-payment technology. The mobile ordering app is available to all Wawa App users, allowing them to bypass the in-store ordering touchscreens and place a customized fresh food or beverage order ahead for pickup.
To ensure that the customer’s order is as fresh as possible, the Wawa team begins preparing it when the customer gets near the store. That’s why the app requires customers to have location services set to "Always." As they get near the store, they receive a mobile notification that is the order is being prepared.
Customers may pay for the order before they reach the store using a Wawa gift card. Or they can pay at pick up by pressing "Pay at store" when prompted. The customer receives a virtual order slip, which the cashier scans upon arrival, and they may pay using cash, credit, debit, gift card or the Wawa app.
