WINDSOR, Ontario—7-Eleven Canada would like to serve beer, wine and cocktails for on-premise consumption in Ontario, the Windsor Star reports. The chain applied for liquor sales licenses for 61 Ontario locations.
“For these proposed locations, a space must be created for the sale, service and consumption of alcohol with food inside the store,” said Raymond Kahnert, senior communications adviser for the province’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission. “To confirm, take out of alcohol would not be permitted.”
The public, which have been notified via placards outside stores, can comment on the liquor applications for each location until March 11. “This notice offers residents in a municipality an opportunity to respond to the application and to voice any concerns or objections to the application within the time period set as advertised and posted on the placard,” Kahnert said. “Each application will be reviewed individually, so there will be different timelines based on community comments.”
