Wawa's “Cheers to the Classrooms” Program

WAWA, Pa.—Wawa stores have launched a month-long “Cheers to the Classrooms” celebration throughout the entire chain during the month of September.

“As teachers and administration return back to school following one of the most challenging years, Wawa is making a special effort to bring cheer to classrooms across our chain with free coffee, financial support and special visits as our small way of expressing gratitude to those championing for our children,” said Chris Gheysens, president and CEO, Wawa. “It gives us great pride to celebrate our teachers and school administration who represent everyday heroes in our community.”

Wawa said it will recognize educators for guiding and inspiring children by offering a free any-size coffee for teachers and school administrators all day from September 1-30.

In addition, Wawa has designated a $25,000 fund to help schools in its operating area by partnering with Donor’s Choose, an online resource that lets teachers submit funding requests for school supplies/support. Wawa has scheduled a “Cheers Tour” from September 1-10 and will take the Wawa Community Care Truck to select schools that will receive funding. Freshly brewed coffee and a selection of donuts, along with a formal check presentation, will brighten the day.

All 940+ Wawa stores selected a local school to receive 50 free specialty, heart-shaped, apple-filled donuts, two boxes of coffee, 50 free Sizzli coupons and fun props during special visits the weeks of September 13 through September 24. That’s 47,000 Sizzlis and 47,000 donated donuts chainwide.

Gheysens said, “It gives us great pride to celebrate our teachers and school administration who represent everyday heroes in our community.”
