OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.—Family-owned Love’s Travel Stops is celebrating the opening of its newest travel stop off Interstate 59 in Sandersville, Mississippi, marking the 12th location to open so far this year.

The new location, which is open 24/7, adds more than 40 jobs and 93 truck parking spaces to Jones County, Love’s said. In honor of the grand opening, Love’s will donate $2,000 to the Sandersville Police Department.

“We want to thank the town of Sandersville and the Jones County Board of Supervisors for helping to get our 17th location in Mississippi open,” said Greg Love, co-CEO of Love’s. “Our team members are excited to help professional drivers and four-wheel customers get back on the road quickly and safely, with the best amenities and services available on the highway.”

At more than 11,000 square feet, the Sandersville, Mississippi, travel stop includes an on-site McDonald’s restaurant, bean-to-cup gourmet coffee, five showers, laundry facilities and a dog park. There are eight diesel bays, 63 car parking spaces, a CAT scale, Speedco truck service center and more.

In early March, Love’s opened its 18th location in Missouri, this time in Kansas City off Highway 210, adding 38 jobs and 115 truck parking spaces to Clay County. And on March 25, Love’s opened its 17th Tennessee location in Hillsboro off Interstate 24, adding 67 jobs and 88 truck parking spaces to Coffee County.

In all, Love’s plans to open about 50 travel stops and hire about 3,000 people in 2021. Last year, NACS member Love’s opened 38 new locations, added more than 3,000 truck parking spaces and donated several million dollars to fight COVID-19, injustice and poverty and to help sick and injured children.

The company employs more than 29,000 people and last week held a hiring day at locations across the country seeking to bring on board 2,000 employees, including diesel technicians, service advisers, tire technicians and diesel technician apprentices for its Speedco and Love’s Truck Care locations and store and restaurant team members for its Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores.

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores is the nation’s leading travel stop network with more than 550 locations in 41 states.
