ALEXANDRIA, Va.—In response to the continued COVID-19 crisis and extension of the national emergency declaration, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced yesterday that it would continue to waive certain hours of service requirements through June 14.
Initially granted in March, the waiver was extended and expanded in April and then was set to expire May 15. The extension continues the exemption granted from Parts 390 through 399 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) for the 50 states and the District of Columbia for truck drivers transporting goods in support of emergency relief efforts related to the COVID-19 outbreaks.
The declaration extension and other FMCSA documents related to the COVID-19 national emergency are posted at fmcsa.dot.gov/COVID-19.
