C-Store Industry Webinar to Explore Formats, Tech and Loyalty

BLACKBURN, U.K.—Global Convenience Store Focus and EG Group, the U.K. retailer that operates convenience stores and fast-food outlets in Europe, the United States and Australia, invites convenience retailers and suppliers to the next Shop Talk LIVE webinar, “Engaging the Convenience Store Customer of the Future: Format, Loyalty and Technology Innovation,” on Thursday.

The webinar begins at 2 p.m. (London time) or 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, July 9. It will explore the question: How will consumers want to engage with convenience retail businesses in the future and how will site design, loyalty programs and technological innovation reflect these changes? 

The program will start with a virtual tour of EG Group’s latest multi-drive-thru site at Frontier Park in the United Kingdom and an interview with Ilyas Munshi, commercial director, EG Group. In a Convenience Matters episode, Munshi stated the company focuses on the consumer to understand what they want.

“What people want is to access locations, which satisfies multiple missions. What we’ve been able to do in our gas stations and convenience stores is to create a wow factor for the consumer because previously or historically, they’ve not had access to that,” he said. 

The second part of the program features a short presentation from Paula Thomas of Liquid Barcodes on current loyalty trends, including fun and function, emotional loyalty and ultimate loyalty.

The presentation will wrap up with a Leader’s Panel, featuring Munshi and Thomas, plus Scott Hartman, president and CEO of Rutter’s convenience stores of York, Pennsylvania.
